This year Mother’s Day falls on 10 May, which is the first Sunday after Domestic and Family Violence Awareness Day, and Mary’s House Services is once again reaching out to our extraordinary community of supporters.
We’re asking for your help to give the mothers we support something incredibly powerful: a sense of agency, practical support, and hope.
Every day, women arrive with their children at Mary’s House Services seeking safety and refuge. Others come through our community programs, rebuilding their lives, learning practical skills, and reconnecting with a community that understands their journey with compassion and without judgement. Over 90% of our clients are mothers and, in many cases, their goals are to achieve safety and financial independence.
Skip your chance for a prize and give instead
We need your help to purchase gift cards which we will distribute to our clients for Mother’s Day and beyond, so they can buy personal care essentials, clothing, educational items and other relevant children’s needs, necessities many of us take for granted.
While we ensure our pantry is heavily stocked each week at Mary’s House Services, cards provide something equally important: choice. They allow our clients to independently purchase items that meet their family’s specific needs, whether that be dietary requirements due to allergies, culturally appropriate foods, or simply something familiar that brings comfort to their children.

When purchasing digital gift cards, please select “Buy as a gift” or “Send this gift card to someone else” and put the following details as the gift card recipient. Digital gift cards will be emailed directly to us after you complete your purchase.
Recipient Name: Mary’s House Services
Recipient Email: donations@maryshouse.org.au
If you wish to purchase physical gift cards, please post them to:

This Mother’s Day, you can help create that same moment of relief and possibility for another mother. These simple, practical gifts provide immediate support and restore a sense of choice and control at a time when it is needed most.
Together, we can remind every woman, many of them mothers, who walk through our doors that she is not alone and hope truly lives here thanks to our wonderful supporter community at Mary’s House Services. Please join us in rethinking Mother’s Day in 2026, as a community who cares we can do something powerful for our clients.
Thank you for your support.
