What a day of hope! Hope Lives Here luncheon was a sold-out. It’s an extraordinary milestone event – our first official gathering to mark a decade of community generosity and action.

Domestic and family violence remains one of the defining challenges of our nation. In NSW, police respond to a domestic violence call every three minutes, requiring 60% of their resources. At the same time, we know that well over half of all domestic violence incidents remain unreported.

For the second time in two years, our Prime Minister has declared domestic and family violence a national crisis. Yet, long before the crisis was declared, our community stepped up to provide more safety.
For nearly 10 years, in the absence of government funding for a women and children’s refuge in our region, our community ensured more women and children escaping violence had somewhere safe to go.
Hope Lives Here is not an event name. It is the truth about the ethos and vision of Mary’s House Services.

If you loved our event as much as we loved sharing it with you, or if you couldn’t make it and would like to donate to Hope Lives Here, you can make your tax deductible gift here:
At Mary’s House Services, we champion gender equality, and advocate for everyone’s right to live in safety. Our services support women and children escaping domestic and family violence and we remain steadfast in that commitment.
We are proud of the decade behind us, and focused on the decade ahead.
There is more to do.
More safe housing is urgently needed.
More specialised social workers are needed to support more clients.
There are more futures to protect, and we can do it with you by our side.
Thank you for celebrating 10 years with us. Thank you for your generosity, your kindness and your hope. Hope truly lives in our community.
